MY LIFE IN DEBT IS AN EFFORT TO TRANSLATE THE MASSIVE NUMBERS THAT WE SEE ON THE NATIONAL STUDENT LOAN DEBT TO THE FAMILIAR, EVERYDAY-LIFE FACES OF STUDENTS WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH AND TRAPPED IN STUDENT LOAN DEBT.

WITH 36 MILLIONS AMERICANS HAVING STUDENT LOAN DEBT, THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF MONEY OF STUDENT LOANS OWED BY AMERICANS HAS EXCEEDED $ 1 TRILLION – MORE THAN THE NATIONAL CREDIT CARD BALANCES.

MANY STUDENTS WALK INTO COLLEGE WITH HOPE TO BETTER THEMSELVES THROUGH EDUCATION, BUT THE BURDEN OF THEIR STUDENT LOAN FORCES THEM TO RETHINK THEIR PRIORITIES IN COLLEGE AND IN LIFE. SOME DO SUFFER FROM THEIR DEBT FOR THE SAKE OF A GOOD EDUCATION.

LOANS ARE NOT ONLY NUMBERS, THEY ARE STORIES OF MEN AND WOMEN WHO TRY TO MAKE THEIR LIFE BETTER, HOPING THAT ALL THE SACRIFICES THEY HAVE MADE WILL BE WORTH IT SOMEDAY.

WE DON’T WANT TO STOP HERE. WE THINK THAT LOTS OF STUDENTS WANT TO SPREAD THEIR WORDS ABOUT THE SITUATION. YOU CAN SHARE YOUR STORY AND WE WILL PUBLISH IT ON THE WEBSITE.
